Dr. Jason Ortman
Dr. Jason Ortman owns and operates Castle Pines Eye Care in Castle Rock, Colorado where he is dedicated to providing expert vision and eye care services to his patients.
Dr. Ortman grew up in Northeastern Ohio and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry at The Ohio State University. He then completed a residency in ocular disease and hospital-based Optometry at the New Mexico Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Albuquerque. Dr. Ortman moved to Denver in 2001 and practiced in Lakewood for 5 years before joining Castle Pines Eye Care.
In addition to primary eye care, Dr. Ortman specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses and ocular disease. Dr. Ortman also has worked with non-profit groups to provide eye care in Guyana, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, China, and here in Colorado.Dr. Ortman is a member of both the American Optometric Association, and the Colorado Optometric Association where he serves on several committees.
In his leisure time, Dr. Ortman enjoys skiing, traveling and spending time with his wife Lisa, and children Caroline and Joshua.

Dr. Rebekah Bretz is dedicated to providing quality eye care to patients of all ages, with a special focus in pediatric vision.
Dr. Bretz grew up in North-central Kansas and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kansas State University. She also holds her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Bretz is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association, as well as the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. In addition to primary eye care, Dr. Bretz’s areas of specialty include pediatrics, contact lenses, and vision therapy.
She enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling in her free time as well as and spending time with her husband and son, Noah; friends; and family.
Michelle, Optical Manager
Michelle's roots are originally from Columbia, South Carolina. Before Michelle relocated to Colorado in 2002, she lived outside of Chicago. Michelle has nine years experience in the optical field. She enjoys helping each person bring their fashion and style to their glasses.
In her off time, Michelle loves hanging out with her four children: Cecilia, Julia, Stace, and Roland. She tries to keep up with them skiing, but tends to still get left behind on the black diamonds. Michelle enjoys swing dancing, and fencing with her husband Zack. She loves to be outside as much as possible working in her yard or reading.
Valerie, Marketing Director & Optician
Valerie can be found pulling out a camera at any moment around our office! As our marketing director, social media guru, and promotions extrardonaire, she enjoys capturing the life and personality of our office. Valerie also loves helping people find the perfect pair of glasses. Valerie lives in Parker with her husband and two fur-babies. She enjoys anything involving creativity and making things, hosting cute partie (thanks, Pinterest), and enjoying the Colorado sunshine however she can!
Nancy, Optometric Technician
Nancy was born and raised on the “north side” of Chicago. She now resides in Castle Rock with her husband and two children. Nancy enjoys volunteering at her daughter’s school, shopping at “The Barn” and attending local events. You’ll see her friendly face at the front desk when you walk in our office. She also trains our new contact lens wearers. “The most rewarding part of my job is the relationships I build with patients year after year.”
Sue, Optician & Optometric Technician
Sue has been with our office since the fall of 2009. Sue comes to the optical world with experience in retail sales and banking. She has been a resident of Castle Pines North for almost seven years. Sue was raised in an Air Force family, so she traveled the world before settling in Colorado and marrying her husband Randy. She has two daughters who attend local schools and keep her busy with activities and shopping. Sue loves to spend time with her family, reading, cooking, baking and watching cooking shows. She likes to work out, take walks, and power yoga.
Sarabeth, Optometric Technician
Sarabeth joined our office with an extensive background in optometry as an optician and technician. She and her husband both actually work in the eyecare industry. Sarabeth has two little bundles of joy at home that keep her busy in her time off! She enjoys exploring the Denver area with her husband and her kids!
Kristi, Optometric Technician & Optician
Kristi has been working part-time with Castle Pines Eye Care since the summer of 2010. She has worked in the optometry/ophthalmology field for the last 12 years as an optician, optical manager, optometric technician, and medical biller. When not working at Castle Pines Eye Care, Kristi is a private music instructor in the Denver and Boulder area.
Shala, Billing Specialist & Optician
Shala has been with Castle Pines Eye Care since fall of 2011. She has worked in optometry for the last 12 years as an optician, optometric technician, office manager, optical manager, and medical biller. Shala lives in Parker, CO with her husband and 2 daughters. She enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and traveling.
